B-9 is effective at controlling height and darkening foliage color. Prune soon after potting will produce a finished product that doesn't open up when it flowers. The key is to make the first prune at the level of the first set of leaves closest to the soil.

Grower Tips:

Delicate and refined lacecap flowers comprised of doubled sepals. Extremely bud-hardy and a rebloomer. While this plant leans to blue, the flower color may range from blue to pink to white; all soft, delicate shades perfect for a refined garden. The flowers age to an attractive pink and tip down in a distinctive arching fashion.

This hydrangea blooms on both old and new wood. Pruning is generally not needed, but it may be trimmed lightly after the early bloom. Bloom color can be shifted to blue with the addition of aluminum sulfate to the soil. Best in moist, well-drained soils. Supplemental moisture may be needed in very hot or dry conditions. Fertilize in spring with a controlled release fertilizer.
