PGR sprays for controlling height. Daminozide at 2,500–5,000 ppm, chlormequat chloride at 750–1,000 ppm, or Paclobutrazol at 5–10 ppm.
Treat with preventative broad spectrum fungicidal drench at 1-2 weeks after transplant.
Scout crops regularly (at least once a week) for disease development.
Good air circulation, control of humidity, and good sanitation practices are critical. Good water management practices are critical to healthy plant growth.
Grower Tips:
Requires high light in production.
Note higher pH optimum for this crop, avoid acidifying fertilizers in production. Calcium and nitrate-based fertilizers help maintain pH above 6.2 avoid ammonia based fertilizers.
