In Northern regions' this plant will die back to the ground though the roots are hardy. In the South, cut back if needed. Fertilize in early spring by applying a slow release fertilizer specialized for trees and shrubs. Follow the label for recommended rate of application. Turns lime-green with too much shade, however, summer temps and light intensity may require the use of light shade. -Sunshine Blue needs a sunny location to maintain chartreuse leaves.
