Light prune when plant puts our new growth. Light pruning versus shearing will allow multiple prunes in one season without shutting down the plant.

Scale if grown in the field

Grower Tips:

Add some architecture to your garden or decorative container with this narrow, conical seedling of 'Sky Pencil' Holly. Shiny, dark evergreen leaves and tight upright branching make this a must have plant.

Tolerant of a wide range of growing conditions including urban pollution. Prefers light, moist, acidic soils with good drainage. Chlorosis (leaf yellowing) may occur in alkaline soils. Maintains a columnar shape without pruning. If pruning is necessary shear in early to mid-summer. Moderate water, drought resistant once established. Evergreen -slower grower. Fertilize in early spring by applying a slow release fertilizer specialized for evergreens. Follow the label for recommended rate of application.

Vernalization:
Cold Required
