No pinching recommended. Infinity and Ruffles varieties were bred to branch well without pinching, which would only delay flowering and result in a less balanced plant habit. No growth regulators recommended or needed.

General pest and disease practices as listed in notes. Good air circulation is key as higher humidity levels promote earlier flowering in New Guinea Impatiens. Aggressive scouting and treatment program for thrips is critical for INSV control. Scout for Broad Mites and treat if necessary. Do not use Medallion due to severe PGR effect on New Guinea Impatiens.

-Preventive fungicides are recommended at transplant. Good sanitation practices include keeping greenhouses clean at all times, eliminating weeds and debris, disinfecting equipment in greenhouses as often as possible and keeping hose ends off of the greenhouse floor. Good water management practices are critical for good, healthy plant growth.

Grower Tips:

-Preventive fungicides are recommended at transplant.
-Plants are sensitive to high soluble salts.
-Light shade is optimal for best growth.
-Aggressive scouting and treatment program for thrips is recommended for INSV control. Do not use Medallion due to severe PGR effect on NGIs.
-Be sure not to over-water while plants are still rooting to the pot edge.
-75 percent relative humidity with 68 degrees and an EC of 0.2 are optimal growing conditions to maximize flower size.

-Roots are sensitive to over feeding and over watering. All New Guineas are sensitive to micronutrient toxicity. Maintain pH of 6.0 to 6.5 to avoid this toxicity. Consider a flowable limestone application to help maintain pH, if necessary.
