    Azaleas are a classic choice for landscaping, especially planted in front of homes and on banks. 

    Maintenance Notes: 

    Blooms on old wood in spring. As such, it should only be pruned immediately after its spring bloom. Even if it doesn't need pruning, it's not a bad practice to give the plant a light trim after its spring bloom. 

    If you wish to fertilize, do so in early spring, just as the new growth begins to emerge, and then again after the spring bloom is complete. Use a rose fertilizer.
