i have planted 5 of the dandy man Rhodies here in Spring Texas that's 48 miles north of Houston TX. while all other rhody varieties have suffered and died this dandy man series has thrived , taken 105-108 with no rain, we did water them when the drought-hit here! , and now this winter we had 82 degrees heat followed by the arctic vortex winter storm here for 5 days with record cold freezing rain then 5 inches of snow!!!! well, this dandy-man series said loudly bring it on!! no browned leaves, and they do not look worse for the abuse the arctic front brought to them! so not only do they take record heat and drought, they also have proven their winter hardiness to also be a valued plus for this series, I have flower buds ready for spring and i am looking forward to their spring show! BRAVO DANDY-MAN!!!

Heat and cold tolerant. Needs acid soil, so mix pine bark with your soil and mulch with pine bark.
