I was actually looking to buy the 'Onyx and Pearl' variety from PW- which I guess is no longer sold- but I came across 'Cherry Sparks' and decided to give it a try in our front bed bordered by our brick house (it gets very hot, south-west exposure). My goodness I am so glad I did! The blooms are much larger than other varieties of penstemon I have grown in the past, and the color is true to the pictures, very beautiful plant and is 1st year bloomer. The foliage is thinner leaved and more green than other varieties as well. May need some staking.
