I fell in love with the Gin Fizz for the size, shape and color of this tree on your website. But let’s be honest, it is mostly about the berries. Last spring, I ordered one and put it in the ground in full sun and amended clay soil in 7B NC. It did well the first year as it established. This spring, it put out numerous berries and has grown a few inches in height and width during the season. I look forward to enjoying this as it grows and makes it presence known in my backyard. I even liked it so much, that I planted one in my parents yard across town. In part sun, it is equally thriving.

This beautiful, pyramidal evergreen develops a very heavy crop of blue-green fruits that contribute to a delightfully textured, colorful look in the landscape. It makes a striking specimen or can be used to create a lush hedge for year-round coverage and privacy. Thrives in full sun and resists deer.

This is a nice option for hedging in sunny, dry spots, or where deer are an issue.
Maintenance Notes:Little pruning or maintenance is needed. Can be trimmed as desired - avoid cutting into thick, woody stems, as recovery from such cuts is slow.
