Professional Growing Information My Happy Jack clematis is two years old and absolutely gorgeous. As beautiful as it is I don’t find it has a particularly lengthy bloom time, as the description suggests. I have another clematis that blooms throughout the summer but this one seems to have a similar bloom period to other spring flowering clematis in my area. I’m docking it one star just for this reason. Otherwise it’s a really lovely plant and I’ve greatly enjoyed having it.

Velvety plum-purple flowers with intriguing center highlights and bright yellow stamens characterize this version of the ever-popular 'Jackmanii' clematis. This early and long-flowering beauty blooms from mid-summer into fall, and is noted for its intense purple flower color and large (3-5" blooms).
