    Features

Step into the wild with ‘African Jungle’, a rex begonia with mounding, clumping leaves that capture all the vibrance of a sub-saharan rainforest. Each asymmetrical, deeply-serrated leaf is a riot of color, with plum-to-purple centers, shimmering splashes of silver & lavender, and rich green margins, edged in more purple. Red stems and under-veining also add another pop of color and dimension.

    Maintenance Notes:
    • For optimal performance, keep your Begonia at 60-85°F (15-29°C).
    • Begonias thrive in medium to bright indirect light, such as that found in an east- or west-facing window. Too much direct sunlight can lead to leaf scorch. Insufficient light can lead to legginess and faded leaves.
    • Begonias prefer moderate humidity, but are typically tolerant of average indoor conditions. You can supplement their humidity by placing them on a pebble tray with water, or by clustering them together with other plants.
    • Begonias prefer to be watered when the top inch of soil feels dry. Ensure good drainage.
    • Feed your Begonia once per month at half strength when it is actively growing. Reduce frequency of fertilization in the winter months. If no new leaves are growing, it does not need to be fertilized.
    • Protect furniture when watering & fertilizing.
    • When repotting your Begonia, use an all-purpose potting mix, with orchid bark and perlite added to ensure good drainage.
