Update on Mars Magic......I couldnt have imagined how amazing this plant would have looked. This is an addendum to my original review.. Passers by have taken selfies w/the hollyhock..it h as now 3 main stalks and a number of off shoots on each stalk..all healthy..not a trace of scale which is totally unusual for hollyhocks.. Its the highlight of my front yard. I must sat that its a very thirsty plant as it does have to support such thick stalks and large foliage..but it bounces back if i happen to see a few leaves drooping...Probably my favorite plant purchase this season. Id love to see some other colors offered but from what i can tell, Im the only one who commented on this plant this year(so far)..I give Mars Magilc 5 Stars.

Try growing them in the cottage garden style by planting them up against a wall or picket fence. Though their stalks are very strong, they may need to be staked if they are planted in a windy site.
Hollyhocks prefer rich, moist, well-drained soil but can tolerate short periods of drought. They need full sun to really perform in the landscape. Watch for Japanese Beetles; this plant is one of their favorites!

Fast growing and so far no scale. There is a second stalk growing as well. A few of the lower flowers are opening and the color is exactly like the shown picture here on the website..kind of a very pleasing redish pink..beautiful. I am using it as a thriller in my large mixed container. Very pleased with the quality of the plant and its growth habit. I would surely recommend this one for sure.
