Burning bush are very heavy feeders and will quickly show signs of low nutrition. If leaves are small in size, chlorotic, or pale green, adjust fertilizer regimen.
A hard dormant prune is essential for producing a full, well-branched plant. Late fall is the best time for this. Prune an additional 2 times after growth begins in spring.
Plants are a bit slow to get started, but once they are rooted in, top growth begins to catch up.
Watch for spider mites, treat as necessary.
For fall color sales, plants must be outdoors in full sunlight for several weeks to attain best color.
Potting a 2 ¼” liner directly to a 3 gallon is not recommended.
